  • Kate Cavdarski - Couples Therapy Specialist & Individual Therapy

    Kate’s style is warm and inviting; she gently guides clients to see new perspectives, linking past struggles with present experiences, and fostering meaningful growth in both life and relationships. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and is nearing completion of her Master's degree in Counselling, both enhanced by her advanced training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.

    As a mother of four grown children, Kate deeply understands the juggling act of relationships, career, parenting, and self-care. She draws from a rich pool of experience to create a safe and nurturing environment for her clients.

    While her current focus is on individual and couples counselling, she also has a diverse background in youth and family support, as well as experience across community, government, and private sectors.

    Kate is especially passionate about relationship counselling and has completed a Graduate Certificate in Relationship and Couple Therapy, along with advanced clinical training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1).

  • Matt James - Couples Therapy Specialist & Individual Counsellor

    Matt is an experienced and compassionate counsellor specialising in couples therapy, remarriage preparation and with an ongoing interest and expertise in individual therapy. He is a trusted professional as a Level 2 Member of the Australian Counselling Association, and has a high level of proficiency in providing therapeutic support to individuals and couples. Matt is down-to-earth and excels at helping couples ‘translate’ what their partner actually means! In addition to his clinical training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy at an advanced level, Matt has a diverse background that includes a decade of experience as a musician in a heavy metal band, which has given him a unique perspective and insight into men’s mental health and also more broadly the challenges, pressures and struggles faced by people in high-expectation industries.

    Matt's has a passion for destigmatising mental health issues and promoting wellness, and he been invited to speak on topics such as mental health, self-care, and recognising the need for help. As a Couples Therapy Specialist at Lighthouse Relationships, Matt is committed to providing compassionate and effective therapy to help individuals and couples navigate their challenges and thrive in their relationships.

    Isabella Bucciol - Couples Therapy Specialist & Family Counselling

    Isabella’s approach is compassionate and supportive; she helps couples and families navigate challenges, fostering healthier relationships and stronger connections. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Training and Development and is nearing completion of her Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, complemented by her specialised training in Family Therapy and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.

    As a mother of two young daughters, Isabella understands the delicate balance of family life, career, and self-care. She uses her personal and professional experiences to create a safe and nurturing space for her clients.

    While her primary focus is on couples and family counselling, Isabella also brings a diverse background in human resources and community support, enhancing her ability to connect with individuals from various walks of life.

    Isabella is particularly passionate about fostering healthy family dynamics and has undertaken advanced training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, equipping her with the skills to assist couples in building lasting connections.

  • Georgia Byles - Couples Therapy Specialist & Individual Counsellor

    Georgia is an empathic and caring counsellor who is deeply committed to helping individuals and couples move through challenges and to find fulfilment in their lives and in their relationships. She holds multiple degrees and diplomas in a range of disciplines, including psychology, counselling, and business. Georgia is a resident expert in helping couples at all stages through the life span, having been called upon to advise peak bodies such as ‘Starts at 60’ regarding helping couples transition to a happy relationship in retirement. With a strong foundation in evidence-based counselling practice, Georgia brings a highly skilled and compassionate approach to therapy.

    Georgia can also help with anxiety, parenting, life transitions, and fostering overall emotional and psychological well being.

    Georgia is skilled in forming strong connections and fostering trust with her clients. She recognises the significance of customising therapy to address individual needs and relies on evidence-based techniques to guide her practice.

  • Nahum Kozak - Senior Psychologist - Couples & Individuals

    Nahum is a warm, friendly psychologist and is adept in a range of therapeutic techniques, which he uses in his work with individuals and couples. Among other approaches, Nahum draws upon cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), in his individual work and clinical training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy in couples counselling. His research on loneliness, connection and wellbeing has been published in The International Journal of Social Psychiatry, and he is a regular guest expert on ABC Radio Brisbane.

    Nahum holds two Masters degrees, one in Research, the other in Psychology, and he is a strong believer in being a lifelong learner when it comes to couples counselling and individual therapy.

    He blends his thorough understanding of therapy with an empathetic, encouraging and occasionally humorous therapeutic manner. Nahum can provide Marathon Couples Therapy, to help couples gain momentum quickly and effectively.

  • Megan Kozak - Director & Couples Therapy Specialist

    Megan is Lighthouse Relationships’ Director and Couples Therapy Specialist; a trusted and safe pair of hands. Megan’s expertise and authority in helping couples build (or rebuild) a love that lasts has been recognised in a range of media. As a clinician she has been sought after for her comprehensive skills in helping couples to recover from an affair, resolve gridlocked issues, or to reignite their spark when children come into the picture (or after children have grown and flown the coop!) Megan is highly skilled in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and also holds qualifications in Prepare/Enrich. She draws on over four decades of psychological research in order to deliver accurate assessment and reliable interventions with couples, and her articles on relationship wellbeing have been published in Australia and abroad. Megan is available for Marathon Couples Therapy; in which she discreetly and effectively works with individual couples in an intensive and private two day couple retreat.
